    QSAC Central District News

Earl Clement from Machesney Park Raceway will be doing a display to promote QSAC. The display will be at the Race and Performance Expo in St. Charles, IL on Feb. 22-23. If you are in the area, give Earl a shout and help him promote the hobby that we all love. Check out the show at raceandpeformanceexpo.com, it looks like a fun time.

Just a reminder if any members or tracks need brochures to hand out at the track or at a display. If you go to the QSAC home page under forms and find the QSAC 2014 brochure, it is a ready to print brochure describing everything about our hobby. It is an easy tool to promote our hobby and is sure to help answer questions from people interested.

Good luck to Earl Clement and Dave Dygon this weekend at the Race and Performance Expo in St. Charles, IL. It sounds like a very nice convention for racers of all kinds. If you are in the area, stop in and help them promote our hobby!

Just a reminder, the QSAC rulebook is an excellent tool and guide to use for fair and unbiased racing at any track, anywhere, and at anytime. If your club feels they need to modify it in anyway at a club level, to keep your local racers happy and coming back, feel free. Just be aware, we will implement this rulebook for the 6 National Championship Series Races. That way if you are planning on traveling and attending one of the NCS races, you will know exactly what to expect and what is legal. Thank you.

It looks like almost all QSAC clubs in the Central District are racing this weekend. Everybody travel safely and have fun! Just a reminder, to the 5 tracks in the Central District that are holding a NCS Race, please read the QSAC website and let me know if you are planning on running one provisional class and what provisional class you want to run at your NCS Race. I will then give that info to Mr. Scott Harper to put on the QSAC website, that way QSAC members traveling to your NCS Race, will have the ability to prepare a car and race that provisional class. Thanks, and lets go racing boys and girls!

QSAC NCS #2 is heading to IQSR in Ingalls, IN in 1 week. It is the first of 5 NCS Races in a row held in the Central District in 2014. Just like in Alabama, there will be no provisional class racing at this race. The track will be open Wednesday afternoon and all day Thursday for practice. Please make sure you obey all speed limits and stop signs in the town of Ingalls on the way into IQSR. Please do not park on the grass!!!!!! It is okay to pit on the grass, but IQSR is located in a public park and they prohibit parking on the grass, except in the far lot by the restrooms. I would suggest dropping your tools and cars off at your pits, then parking in lot by the restrooms or in the gravel near the swing sets to make room for everyone attending. Please have a great time and be sure travel safe to this race. Feel free to call me if you have any questions or concerns.

    Thanks,

QSAC Members, NCS #3 is just 3 weeks away. If you can make it to only 1 NCS race, this is the one to make. Hoosier Tire's Newton Park has a little bit of everything planned this year. They are planning the same TV and news coverage like last year, activities for kids provided by the Park, and even a full scale car show the day of the mains! If you want to race for true oval racing fans and spectators in front of the employees and owners of Hoosier Tire, this is the place to be!

This link between QSAC and Hoosier Tire, that member Bob Louk started for us, can benefit QSAC and the hobby of quarter scale racing in more ways than we can ever imagine. For that reason alone, I want this race to be the biggest NCS Race we've had in years, and for us to showcase the best racing and sportsmanship that we are capable of.

A big special thanks goes out to Fred Murry, he is letting us race on his portable track again. Fred is also setting the track up as early as possible, so if you arrive in town early, please stop by and lend him a hand. I ask all members to stick around after the mains and help Fred load the track back up, like we did last year. So please, if you can make it here, please come and race with us in Lakeville, IN this June 20-21st in front of the folks at Hoosier Tire at their Newton Park.
