Miami Valley Quarter Scale Racers (MVQSR)

In an effort to further expand Quarter Scale Racing, the Miami Valley Quarter Scale Racers (MVQSR) has formed in Dayton, Ohio. Fred Murry, Mike Miller, and I have formed this club to promote the sport in our area. The home track for this club is located at Kil-Kare Speedway in Xenia, Ohio.

We have had a lot of interest in this sport until we talk about the travel to race. We hope to overcome that obstacle by getting new blood into the sport and getting them to race with us at Kil-Kare, Indy, and other tracks in the Midwest. We are seeking support from the Indy club members in helping us grow our numbers. We have an awesome club and track at Indy and want to keep and expand on that success. We want to have the Indy club come and put on a couple races at this very nice track we have over here and I believe that it will really give us a boost in membership.

Fred has done a lot of work with Kil-Kare Speedway and the Miami Valley Quarter Midget Club. We hope to be able to offer some events that are fun and enjoyable in the near future. These will most likely be on Sundays and not dates where there are races scheduled at Indy. Again, we will be working very closely with IQSR to further expand, and not detract from, the success they have. Fred, Mike, and I will be racing and supporting IQSR as we have in the past!

The track at Kil-Kare Speedway, the home of MVQSR, is a QSAC sanctioned track. YOU MUST be a QSAC member to run a car on the track.

A new website has been built for MVQSR which includes a lot of information and photos of the track. I will continue to add information to the website as we get it, so check back often!

Thank you all in advance for your support of this new club!

Congrats on the new club. I'm very familiar with the track. Last time I was there though was in 1996 when I flagged the 1/4 Midget Nationials. Should be a great 1/4 scale track !

    Racers,
Thanks to Fred Murry, we now have established Practice / Test & Tune Dates for Kil-Kare Speedway. We will have the track open during the times annotated beside each date. Please be aware that you must be a QSAC member in order to put a car on this track.

    May 4th (Sunday 10am – 4pm)
    Jun 8th (Sunday 10am – 4pm)
    Jun 15th (Sunday 10am – 4pm)
    Jun 29th (Sunday 10am – 4pm)
    Jul 6th (Sunday 10am – 4pm)
    Sept 28th (Sunday 10am – 4pm)
    Oct 4-5th (Saturday / Sunday 10am – 4pm)

These dates are informal days of play. If enough cars show up we can have a race. Otherwise just have fun running our cars. If a midget should happen to show up on these days we will share and give them their track time.

We are in discussion with Kil-Kare Speedway on a couple of dates to bring an IQSR race over…once we have a couple of date options, we will get with IQSR to see if we can make it happen. We will post as soon as we have a firm race date.

Thanks all for your patience as we look to get as many racers as possible over this year to try out the track. We are expecting next year to run a full race schedule that is offset from the IQSR schedule.

We now have a MVQSR "Club Car" (WCM Sportsman) for those new to 1/4 scales and want to give one a try! We will have this car out at the next Kil-Kare Speedway practice day scheduled for 8 June and at all other practice dates scheduled for the remainder of the year.

Check out www.mvqsr.com for the latest dates and information!

    Racers,
Next weekend, Sunday June 8th, we will have the track open for a practice day...if enough cars, we will even throw in some mock races. The track will be open Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm. We are asking $5 per car for these practice days.

Right now we are in negotiations to bring one of the Indy Quarter Scale Racers (IQSR - Ingalls) races to Kil-Kare. Looking at the 16 August race. Fred Murry is checking on the timing equipment to loan for Kil-Kare as we speak and should have an answer this coming week. If the timing equipment is a go, we will firm up the date with IQSR and press forward once all approvals are given.

This track is much different than Ingalls...HIGHLY encourage all racers who plan to attend this INAGURAL RACE for Kil-Kare to come over and check out this track and get the setups right prior to race day.

Here is the dates the track will be open for practice dates:

    Jun 8th (Sunday 10am 4pm)
    Jun 15th (Sunday 10am 4pm)
    Jun 29th (Sunday 10am 4pm)
    Jul 6th (Sunday 10am 4pm)
    Sept 28th (Sunday 10am 4pm)
    Oct 4-5th (Saturday / Sunday 10am 4pm)

Thanks all for your support of this new track and club !!

Wow, I saw the first word of this thread, "Miami", and got all excited - maybe there would be a new track in Miami, Florida!!!.... no such luck.

Suggestion - post some of your photos here. It's so easy on this site, anyone can do it, even directly from a mobile phone...
Then others can see what you're all talking about. :-)
