    XceedRC Grand Prix, Bangkok, Thailand

    Xceed RC Grand Prix 2011
    Date: Thursday, October 27 at 6:00pm - October 30 at 9:00pm
    Location: Bangkok, Thailand

After the successful 2010 Xceed Grand Prix in Shanghai, Xceed stages the 2011 Xceed Grand Prix in Thailand. It will be held at the same track as the 1/10 IFMAR electric World Championships a few years ago. There will be classes for 1/10 and 1/8 scale gas powered on-road classes.

Entry is now open to all brands of cars and all nationalities. There will be a separate prize for the youngest and oldest driver, the driver who has to travel furthest and the fastest female driver. Xceed driver Michael Salven has already confirmed his entry. The organizers will keep everyone up-to-date on other famous drivers attending, and a complete entry-list as well.

Late October is a superb time to be in Thailand, as weather conditions should be nice. The track is close to the airport, and there are many hotels close to the track. There is an on-site hobby shop for parts and fuel.

Full information will be posted here:

Here are three photos I took of this track during the IFMAR 1/12 electric World Championships back in late 2008. It is an absolutely BEAUTIFUL track, with a huge indoor space for pitting, a good size hobby shop - it is a very enjoyable place to have a radio control competition!

Tim, do you think we'll get tracks in the USA again that are as nice as what people are racing on in Europe and Asia? We used to have some nice ones.... but so few.

The track in the above photos is "off-the-scale" awesome! Everything about it. You can't see it in these photos, but that indoor area where people are pitting - if you look at my old photos from several years back, there's an indoor road course there that can be raced on if it rains. For the Worlds of course, it became a huge indoor pit area. Then there's a mini-restaurant with fresh food, drinks, beer, sandwiches, and lots of other goodies. There was AC power, internet.... they thought of everything!
